Our editorial stance at Cultural Capitol is urban and politically progressive. That means we write about culture and the city; we have love and respect for all human beings regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, creed, or class; and we revel in all the strange, dirty, sexy, funky, fabulous, and freaky goings-on in the metropolis. Culturalcapitol is a blend of theory, observation, and anecdote. The content is not intended for the squeamish or prepubescent. Though we try to keep the language PG on the main page, if you click through to the rest of a post you might read something that could make grandma blush. No pornographic pictures — I promise — but if a woman’s naked breast is a part of the New York experience, we’ll show it.

Shouldn’t it be “Cultural Capital” and not “Capitol”? The latter is a legislative building set in the capital city. The word “capital” has a number of meanings. including “intangible value” (as in “intellectual capital”) as well as chief or principal city where government is located, etc. I really think you mean “capital.”

It should be! And if that dumb ole’ dead French sociologist P. B. hadn’t popularized the term, I could have gotten that domain name. But sadly it was taken. So I had to improvise and pun my way out of the problem. Believe me, I want capital — capital of all sorts, including a capital “a” in my title where that dumb “o” is now. If you want to be a big help, maybe you can see who already owns it and convince them to give it to me.
